In our opinion a weekend getaway is always a great idea - especially when it includes a couples session. We've known Dom + Franco for years and have done several portrait sessions with them so when they invited us to the mountains for the weekend our wheels began to turn, we were so excited to plan a special sunrise couples session for the two of them!
We always pre-scout locations online, but also spent extra time on the drive up checking out the spots we researched in person and searching for other hidden gems. We decided the best option was to start on the north shore of Big Bear Lake. It was one of the most secluded parts of Big Bear Lake and the sunrise views were so beautiful as the sun rose over the trees and reflected on the lake. With a quick stop at rugged hillside dotted with boulders we headed towards one of the hidden gems we found - a beautiful grove of trees with a sunny clearing in the middle.
