Mo and Hunter first met at college in Los Angeles - Mo thought Hunter was funny and cute, and Hunter loved her laugh and beautiful smile. Their first date was mini golf and dinner at Chili's - and as they look back now, they laugh because Mo didn't tell Hunter she hated Chili's until two years later when he took her there again for her birthday... sorry Chili's! Their relationship continued to grow through college, and they quickly fell in love, moving into an apartment in Santa Barbara, and starting their lives together.
When Hunter reached out to us to capture a surprise engagement session to celebrate their recent proposal we were so excited and dove right into helping him plan a session they would love and remember forever. He proposed to Mo at a local Christmas tree farm in Santa Barbara (she loves everything about Christmas) and wanted the surprise engagement session to incorporate the holidays - while still showcasing the beauty of Santa Barbara. With a bit of research and location scouting, we found the perfect spots to capture their engagement and loved bringing their vision to life!
Mo and Hunters engagement session started high above Santa Barbara on the rocky peaks of the Santa Ynez Mountains. The two of them embraced one another with snuggles, slow dancing, and lots of laughs under the pine trees - such a beautiful experience we know they’ll cherish for years to come. Continuing on the trail we reach breathtaking ocean views and vast vistas full of natural beauty making the long winding drive to the top worth all the effort!
Heading down the mountain we adventured to the Funk Zone, a neighborhood unique to Santa Barbara, full of converted warehouses and buildings that set the tone for this upbeat and hip downtown district. We spent the rest of their session exploring the hidden pockets and beautiful architecture of the Funk Zone. Little did they know we had a special surprise for the two of them, a visit to Miracle at the Funk Zone! A pop-up Christmas bar with over-the-top holiday decor and specially-themed cocktails for the season. It was a great way to wrap up their Santa Barbara engagement session!
We loved crafting a picture-perfect session for them and being a part of such a special time in their lives. The energy and love they had for each other was so refreshing and it was truly an honor to capture this exciting new adventure they are on together!
